• After 10+ years of providing mobile hair services, I have done hair lakeside, poolside, in attics, in basements, in small bathrooms, big bathrooms, back porches… you get the picture! Typically, I do hair somewhere where the cleanup will be easy (tile or wood floor) and traffic is light (possibly a spare room or basement). I also have done hair in kitchens and living rooms, depending on the client’s preference. When considering cleanliness, however, it is best to avoid cutting hair where food will be prepared or eaten.

  • Yes. I specialize in haircutting and feel it’s the most efficient way to help people come home to their unique sense of style and self. It takes up the least amount of time yet provides a substantial self-esteem boost.

  • Parenthood is all-new territory and we don’t need any more surprises. You can expect I will spend about 45 - 60 minutes in your home. You will wash your hair ahead of time and I will re-wet it with a spray bottle if needed. I will consult with you shortly before the cutting begins. I will then cut and style your hair. You are free to set up a mirror in whatever space you choose to have your hair cut - or, you can be surprised! Again, do we need more surprises? That’s totally up to you and how you’re feeling in that moment. I may communicate why I’m cutting something, why I’m using a particular cutting tool or certain hair products (which you can opt out of me using), and ask you how you’d like your hair styled or if you prefer it simply air-dry. We will also go over this in the consultation so the entire haircut can be done in silence, if you wish. Finally, I will seek your approval of the cut and make any changes you may request. It’s your time, your look. Don’t be afraid to say if something feels off. I will conclude with clean-up (you can refer to the question about clean-up below).

  • Any monetary amount beyond the cost of services rendered will be fully allocated to the Perinatal Pampering Fund. This fund will provide haircuts and styling to families in need of pampering without any financial burden.

  • I have done hair in my client’s homes for years and am only now focusing on perinatal clients. I will travel with both a broom/dustpan as well as a vacuum. Hair slivers in feet are a real thing, so I do my best to clean up after your service (especially if you have crawlers and babies who’ll eat anything off the floor!) We’ll inspect the floor together at the conclusion of every visit.

  • The answer here is simple: anything. I will defer to you on how I enter your home. I am more than happy to take shoes off (I will switch into designated house slippers as to not step in hair as I cut), wear a mask, and wash my hands thoroughly. I will also be transparent before each visit regarding the state of everyone’s health in my own home and will cancel if I am sick.

  • I live in Torrington and am willing to travel up to 30 minutes/approximately 15-20 miles without adding additional costs for mileage. My haircuts are $80 and include styling, so the only way it would cost more is if I am traveling more than 20 miles. In this case, it is an additional $10/15 miles. (This amount could change in the event that gas prices change significantly - you will be notified ahead of time.) This will be something we discuss ahead of time during our consultation, once you feel comfortable sharing your home address and we decide to work together.

  • The Postpartum Pampering Fund (PPF) is for new parents who may themselves, or have a loved one, reach out to me requesting a sliding scale in pricing. The PPF is funded by client donations in the form of gratuity. Any gratuity I receive on top of my base service pricing will go to this fund in order to lessen the financial burden on new families. Thank you for considering donating to support a new parent in need!
